Yes, World Meditation Day is a thing. First of all, in today’s world meditation is vital regardless if you are a spiritual person or not. Just think about it. We are constantly on the go and more than we would actually like to admit. We don’t take the time out to just be present.

If you are like me, daily “woosah” sessions don’t always help.

What is meditation?

It is an ancient art, and it is practiced by those who are neither spiritual or religious as a way of relieving stress and clearing their mind. It has been shown to have positive mental and physical effects.

According to Wikipedia, Meditation is a practice where an individual uses a technique-such as mindfulness, of focusing their mind on a particular object. Also by focusing on a thought or activity-to train attention and awareness. The goal is to achieve a mentally clear and emotionally calm and stable state.
