Natural Hair: 3 Reasons Why I Love Perm Rod Sets
Why I LOVE Perm Rod Sets!
When I first started my journey of “natural curls acceptance” I would think about the different styles that I wanted to try. I found out very quickly that not every hairstyle is for everyone. My very first style was the “perm rod set” I had absolutely no clue as to what I was doing and I definitely didn’t know how it would turn out. Funny thing now is that the perm rod curls are perfect for me. Today, I want to share 3 reasons why I love perm rod sets.
- There is a perm rod for ANY length of hair. Having different perm rod sizes allows me to experiment with different sized curls. Now, my hair is pretty long so with me styling my hair with perm rods it varies in the time spend doing this style.
- It can last for up to 7 days. YES! Believe me, it can. I tested it out myself and I couldn’t believe it. The trick to having your curls last up to 7 days is to make sure you protect your curls at night. You can watch my quick video here on how I protect my curls at night. This by far is one of the easiest things to do to make those curls stretch.
- Styling Possibilities are ENDLESS. Don’t believe me? Be sure to subscribe to the blog because I will be sharing with you the different ways that you can style your perm rod set. The process may take a while, especially if you are new to doing perm rods but keep practicing and you will be a pro in no time!
This style is day 2 after doing my perm rod set. All I did was twist the curls on the left side back and pinned them down with bobby pins. The best part…when I released the pins at the end of the day my curls were still there! Whoop Whoop!
Have you tried a perm rod set? What is your favorite way to style your curls?
