3 Things Every Beginner Thrifter Needs To Know

Style

Beginner Thrifter

Are you a bargain shopper? I love finding cute wardrobe pieces that don’t break the bank.  for those of you who are avid thrifters, I am about to join the club. At first, I didn’t know much about thrifting. After hanging with my sister and thrift shopping with her, I think I have become addicted. Today I am sharing 3 Things Every Beginner Thrifter Needs To Know!

I can’t take too much credit for my thrifting skills. Hanging out with my sister De’Ana, I have been trained by the best. She is so good at thrifting and finding great pieces. If you have been a reader of my blog, you know that I love the Goodwill Store in Covington, Louisiana. While I was still living in Louisiana, I had to make one last stop to see what I could find. Another thrift store score with this linen blouse with bell sleeves! I can’t believe how good I’m getting at thrifting.

This store never disappoints, and I always find pieces that are true to my style. What makes it even better is that this linen top only cost me $3.50. Cha-Ching! All of the lace details is what sold me on this top. I grab a pair of my favorite distressed Forever 21 jeans and my wedges from Payless Shoe Source. My favorite part about this outfit besides the linen top is the dark denim wedges. The colors really compliment each other.

If you are interested in how I styled my hair, be sure to check out my tutorial here.

3 Tips For Thrift Shopping:

  1. Bring hand sanitizer. Since most of the items come from different places, be sure to protect yourself from contracting germs you don’t want hanging around.
  2. Shop on the days where the store offers additional discounts. When you go into the store most time they will have color-coded tags. Each color represents a different sale or discount. Most of the discounts are on certain days of the week. Be sure to ask the store clerk for the schedule to ensure maximum thrifting discounts.
  3. Have A Plan Of Action– Know what is it that you are looking for. Having a plan while thrift shopping will help with staying within your budget.
