Bump Update: Week 21 – What’s Going On With Baby Brown

Life

Time sure does fly. It is probably due to the fact that I didn’t officially find out until I was 10 weeks pregnant. I am going to try my best to share my bump updates here on the blog.

For those of you who have messaged me and asked for an update here ya go!

I am officially in week 21 and things are moving along great. Currently, my toughest challenge is getting into the swing of my new job. There is a lot of driving and long days, but I am trying to push through.

I recently had my anatomy scan the other week, and this week I had my regular office visit appointment. With that being said, I had a few questions for the doctor this time which included traveling in September to go speak at the Type A Parenting Conference in Alexandria, Virginia. To be honest, I thought I would not be able to attend. Luckily, I will be cutting it close but I should be able to go if all is well with the baby. #goodnews

Now, I must say there is one thing I am not a fan of. The fact that the clinic that I go to has a requirement that every patient is required to see all the providers in the clinic.

Including the midwives.

A part of me understands but the other part of me is NOT a fan. It is what it is and I have to remind myself that I am not in Louisiana anymore. Honestly, if my doctor in Louisiana had privileges at the hospital here in Florida, I would fly her here to deliver my baby. #realtalk

I know. I’m crazy.

How does a doctor build a relationship with a new patient by passing you around to all of the other providers just “in-case” something comes up. When I select a doctor to care for or treat me, I expect that doctor to treat me throughout my tenure with them. Not to pass me off to people who don’t know me and are not trying to know me as a patient, much less a person. Don’t get me wrong, for some moms-to-be, this may be exactly what they want. It’s just not for me.

As you can see, I am a little testy about the topic. I just hope my experience will be a good one and all goes well with everything.

At 21 weeks I am weighing in at 154lbs and my blood pressure is great. I am really starting to show more belly bump and dresses have become my new best friend. I visit my local Ross Dress For Less Stores weekly searching for new dresses to add to my wardrobe. Seriously, I know when the truck comes to the store, so I can snag all the goods. Luckily for me, I have been finding some super cute ones!

Here are a few pics showing off the baby bump. Bare with me as I try to perfect this mirror selfie thing.
