You may think that because I have an 8-year-old and a 5-year old I have this motherhood thing down to a science. Newsflash … I don’t.
Now that Baby E is here, I am basically starting all over again. I am so serious — this little surprise blessing came well after I sold all of the baby gear for C & M! Some things have been like second nature and other things I have to ask brother Google for an answer!
Today, I wanted to talk about safe sleep tips for your baby. If you are anything like me or may think you may be like me when your little one arrives, then this post is for you.
There is not a night (or day) that goes by where I don’t worry about Baby E when she sleeps. I am sure you have heard stories of babies dying in their sleep because of their favorite stuffed toy or favorite blanket. This alone is enough to stress a new mom out.
On top of all the things, you will have to manage and be responsible for with your newborn, this is very important. You want to have peace of mind knowing that you have done everything to make sure your baby is safe when sleeping. That starts with knowing important tips to make sure you are practicing safe sleep habits with your little one.
The good news is it doesn’t take much and having products like the HALO 3-in-1 DreamNest Playard and SleepSack makes it easy.

7 Safe Sleep Tips
Take these steps to help keep your baby safe:
-
Always put your baby to sleep on his back – at night and for naps.
-
Put your baby to sleep on a firm surface, like a mattress in a safety-approved crib, bassinet, or play yard
-
Share a room with your baby – but not a bed.
-
Use a fitted sheet. Keep loose bedding, soft objects, toys, and crib bumpers out of the sleeping area.
-
Never smoke or let other people smoke around your baby or in spaces where your baby spends time.
-
Try giving your baby a pacifier for naps and at night.
-
Make sure your baby doesn’t get too hot during sleep.
It doesn’t take much to keep your newborn safe while sleeping. I hope these tips are helpful and ease your mind when your little one goes down for that much-needed nap!
