Blush & Hunter Green A New Fall Staple

There is a reason these two colors are a fall staple. Blush and Hunter Green look amazing on everyone regardless of skin tone, size, or shape.

One thing I realize as I get older is that “trendy” pieces are great. But having staple pieces in your wardrobe is even better! Having pieces that are classics and easy to incorporate into your everyday lifestyle is what you want to aim for.

So in today’s post, I am sharing a new staple color combo that is perfect for not just fall but for any season. Now keep in mind, another great thing about the color blush is that it brings a bit of feminity to hunter green which tends to be more masculine. Hunter green is often paired with mustard toned pieces but blush and hunter green really elevate your fall look even further and it will also help you stand out in the crowd.

Who doesn’t want to stand out?

To break down today’s outfit I want to share what I love the most about rocking the blush and hunter green colors together.

  1. The two colors compliment one another beautifully.
  2. I opted to wear a cream-colored top that was embellished with little tiny pearls. The top featured was shifted from my local Goodwill Store. (I am always looking for a bargain) I also loved the pairing this outfit with this blush jacket.
  3. If you own a pair of nude or blush heels it will go perfectly

I wanna know, do you have these colors in your wardrobe? What do you like the most about pairing these two colors together?

The Vest You Need-Faux Fur

If you follow me on Instagram you probably saw that I recently made a trip back to Louisiana. Boy, oh boy how I missed this place. The funny part is as bad as I thought I missed it, I was ready to return back to Florida.

There is a lesson in everything.

I am just glad I was open and willing to learn and humble myself to accept my life at this very moment. Going back to our old home and driving around our small town, I quickly realized that the past is just that…the past. I can’t begin to tell you how selfish and ungrateful I was once moving to Florida.

I was mad because it was not a part of “my plan” and I felt that I had to give up so much to move somewhere that wouldn’t be beneficial to me.

Yeah, hella selfish.

I really have so much to be grateful for and taking this trip really helped me to open my eyes and my heart. This trip was more than taking my son to his best friends birthday party, but to learn to accept my journey and to be happy where it will lead me. I know yall are not here to walk down memory lane with me, but I just wanted to share.

Now, let’s talk about the vest you need to have in your fall wardrobe this year.

A fur vest is such a staple to include in your fall wardrobe. One’s reason is that they are so versatile. Now, of course, this is not a real fur vest. However, you can wear a fur vest with basically anything. From jeans, dress pants, skirts, and even dresses. So you can see why you need to head to the closest store and grab you one.

I purchased my vest at Rue21 but there are other retailers that you can find your perfect vest too! I am also thinking about sharing a post showing you how you can style a fur vest with other pieces.

Let me know if that is something you would be interested in.

Fall Work Wear

Today I wanted to share another “day at the office” outfit. I wanted to give you a little outfit inspiration to help you transition into the Fall season. With this outfit, I stepped outside of my box and tried two new colors that I wouldn’t normally wear together.

With that being said, I would normally pair an outfit that I wear to work with a jacket or blazer. I have to be smart about jackets so soon in Florida because it is just not cool enough to wear one just yet. I’m secretly hoping that the weather will start to cool down soon.

With this outfit, I wanted to play around with a different color top to pair with my grey pants. Simple because with grey dress pants I am automatically drawn to either white or black. Yep, playing it safe.

Now, one thing that I would change about this outfit would be tying a large neck bow instead of a tiny knot. I do feel like it would have “dressed up” the outfit a bit more. If I were to wear a blazer or jacket with this, it would be much more “corporate” Lucky for me I think it works well without one!

To satisfy my “need” to have the color black included I added these shoes, sunnies, and bag. It really helps to pull it together and I think it’s still very professional.

What do you think of these two colors together?

Perfect Top To Dress Up Your Outfit

You must have thought I was kidding about florals being a huge summer trend! Nope, I was serious. Do you have a perfect top? Better yet, how many floral tops do you currently have in your closet? Well, I know I have plenty!

Honestly, I never thought I would be into florals but I have been trying hard to step outside of my comfort zone. I think this is so very important not only in life but with style as well.

Today, I wanted to share this floral top with you that I purchased from Ross Dress For Less. I wasn’t even looking for a floral top but this one stood out to me. I knew that all of the colors would go well with my dress pants and skirts that I wear to work AND with a cute pair of jeans! Seriously this is a perfect top to dress up any outfit!

Recently I had a brunch date with some other Orlando bloggers and for some reason, I always feel like I am underdressed for the occasion. But hey, this is me and this is MY style and it is what I like. So, I opted for this open shoulder top, with some comfy jeans and a good pair of heels. Yes, I had to have my favorite cup of Starbucks prior to brunch. That’s just how I roll!

Currently, these heels (which also happen to be my current favorite) are out of commission. Want to know why?

Well… I had a field day visit with someone from the corporate office. We were ripping and running all day and I literally wore the caps off of my heels. So, they are in need of repair and I haven’t found a shoe shop to fix them.

If your favorite pair of heels have had their fair share of wear and tear, do you take them to get repaired?

For those of you who are interested in my hairstyle, it is one of my favorite lazy girl “go-to” styles. Not to mention it is only 1000 degrees of sweltering heat here in Florida and it’s too hot or a lot of hair. I have hair tutorial videos on my YouTube Channel if you are interested in how I achieved this style.

Spring Prints

I don’t know about you but I am in full spring fever! From cleaning, decorating, and organizing spring is definitely on my mind. Today’s post I will be sharing with you the ONE PRINT you should have in your closet now!

One Print

Can I be honest with you? I think I currently own more floral print tops now more than ever! Here me out, I was never a huge fan of this one print, for the simple reason I felt that it was just too much going on. But, with all of the different patterns and styling options, everyone needs at least one of these in their closet!

Y’all, I have worn this particular top at least 3 different ways! One was this one, obviously. Then I paired this top with a pair of black slacks for work. finally, I paired this top with a pair of blue jeans. Perfect for a weekend outing with the kids.

Due to the fact that this top has so many different colors you can almost pair it with anything. On this day, I was heading to brunch and I wanted to be comfortable. Normally, I would wear a pair of heels, but after a long week, I opted for these super cute sandals that I snagged from Ross Dress For Less. (Y’all know that is my spot)

Besides after wearing heels all week long, I really look forward to wearing a cute pair of flats or sandals. For those of you who don’t know, I also shop for most of my work wear from Ross.

Check out my post on 3 Affordable Places To Shop For A Professional Wardrobe.

Now, let’s move on and talk about this bag!  My other favorite store, Target, has really stepped their game up with all of the new designers they have been featuring lately. Let me tell you that this bag is one of my new favorites. It is relatively inexpensive and is perfect to carry on the weekends. Honestly for me, the bigger the bag, the more I carry! However, I am trying to do better with switching up my bags to reduce the wear and tear on my designer bags.

St. Patty’s Day Casual Outfit

Sometimes it can be a challenge to be festive for office holidays, especially days like St. Patty’s Day. Today we are going to discuss some ways to be a part of the “in crowd” at your office.

St. Patrick’s Day happens to fall on Saturday this year, but if you are like most people you still want to be in the holiday spirit while at the office. Of course, you can go and purchase one of those little flashing clover necklaces or wear one of the glitter clover headbands. But, for me, I always like to keep things professional, even if there is an office party potluck taking place. Yall, know exactly what I am talking about! One of the ways you can be festive for St. Patty’s Day is of course with your outfit of choice.

I love this outfit because it’s versatile it can be worn to work, or just hanging out with friends at the local pub/bar. Good news, I have linked several green top options that would be perfect to style with a casual outfit or one that you wear to work. In other words, if you are not a fan of the jeans, you can switch it for a pair of black dress pants, or even a black skirt. Another one of my favorites to pair with this green top is white dress pants. Just to give you a few styling ideas.

I love a good blazer because I stay cold! If you are not a fan of the heels you can wear a pair of ankle boots or sandals. One more thing, if you are interested in this hairstyle you can check out my YouTube Channel for some styling tutorials. You can also read my latest post on  How To Achieve A Wavy Hairstyle post here.

What do you think of this outfit? Yay or Nay? Let’s chat in the comments!

Valentine’s Day!

After moving to Florida I did not think that I would make connections and start establishing friendships as fast as I have. I have had the opportunity to meet some amazing women and most of them and I, myself included, are a part of a collective group where we share, inspire, and build community. Despite my week being super busy, we had made plans to do Valentine’s Day shoot.

The goal of this shoot was to help give ideas to ladies who may not have a clue as to what to wear for Valentine’s Day this year. Don’t worry we have you covered! To give to a little background on the photoshoot, we met in Winter Park. We decided for lighting purposes afternoon shoot would work best. Now, what I loved the most was the fact that we are all so uniquely different. From petite to tall, we had the opportunity to showcase our individual style and remain true to our brands and audiences.

So, we decided that two of us would wear pink and the other two would wear red. We showed up and showed out! Everyone was so beautiful and the colors were so complementing for all of us.

We turned the streets of Winter Park into our runway and everyone was watching! It was such a great experience.

Now, what you need to know to get Valentine’s Day Ready is to check out these lovely ladies and head over to their blog to get the scoop on their outfits. I have linked their websites to our photo. Just click on their names and it will take to directly to their site.

Have you picked your Valentine’s Day outfit? Let’s chat in the comments!

The Jumpsuit…Petite women can wear them too!

Before we get into the details about this jumpsuit, I want to share a little story with you. I am sharing this story because I hope to inspire you, the way you inspire me.

When I was a little girl I dreamed of being a model and actress. I would tell myself daily about where my dreams would take me. New York, Hollywood, and Flordia just to name a few places. I tried the modeling route and that wasn’t considered a “real job” so after many failed attempts I had to let it go. I tried to take the acting route but after numerous failed attempts I had to also let that dream go.

So, when I look at these pictures, standing in the middle of these gorgeous palm trees, I am reminded of that “dream”

I may not be a supermodel but I have the opportunity to “model” for my followers, readers, and supporters. I literally cried my eyes out when I found out that the job my husband applied for was not going to be taking us to Dallas, TX but instead to Orlando, FL. (remember the little girl who said she would want to live in Florida) No, don’t have my beach house yet…but I will one day. By only standing 5 feet and 3 inches tall  (petite) all I could do is become a print model.

However, I am not trying to be a “signed” model.

I am just trying to feed the many passions and dreams that are embedded deep in my soul. No,  I would have never guessed that looking at myself on camera or in a picture would yield me so much joy. Simply because my photos and videos inspire other girls, teens, and women just like me. Just like the little girls who stare out their window into the backyard dreaming of a better place, a place where she can thrive and truly be herself.

This is me, a wife, a mother of 2, and a woman so passionate about helping others. I am also a woman who may have taken a different route in life, but the path I am on is right where I belong.

It seems as if all the jumpsuits are made for taller women. But, I think you will love this jumpsuit as much as I do.

Keeping It Classy

Alright, calling all of my hard working ladies looking for a classy dress! I think I have finally found “my kinda dress” if you have a chance to read my New York Fashion Week post, this dress may look familiar. Yes, I have it in white too! I know it can be challenging to find the perfect dress to wear to the office, but I think this one is a perfect option. Here are a few reasons I love this dress:

  1. Fitted Bodycon Style
  2. Classy Bell Sleeves
  3. Perfect Length

I am not 100% confident in my body (especially my arms) so I prefer dresses with sleeves. However, I also think the sleeves give the dress that “classy” feel. If I am being honest, I have never been a huge fan of dresses but now they are my jam and not to mention I live in Florida. Dresses are a necessity in the workforce here. I am in and out of my car all day long, so I need a dress that can move with me (if you know what I mean). Would you wear this dress to the office? Let’s chat in the comments!

All-White

Happy New Year! It is all about winter white this month. It has been so cold lately and I thought this post would be a great kick off for 2018!  As promised I am sticking to my goal of posting a blog post once per week. Before I was posting at least 2-3 posts but felt that it took away from what I really want to share with you, my readers. This year will be more focused on being a resource to you. The next future posts will have a bit of a twist. They will include lookbooks with more focused tips to help you with styling, makeup, and hair. Be sure to let me know what you are looking forward to me sharing this year. 2018 is all about YOU!

This outfit made my BEST OF NINE for Instagram for 2017, so you know I had to spill the beans on how I made this all-white outfit work for me. Hopefully, these tips will help you to be more confident in wearing an all-white outfit.

3 Tips For Wearing An All-White Outfit

1. Try to Match Your Whites

This could be challenging if you are pairing different pieces together. Make sure the whites match or they are VERY close in color. You also want to check your outfit in different lighting to make sure everything looks great.

2. Add Some Color (Shoes, Handbag, Makeup)

Everyone loves a pop of color. You can take your all-white outfit up a notch by adding color. I added red lipstick and gold heels. I also tried this outfit with a pair of red heels and it looked better than I expected. So, before you say no to a “pop” of color try it first you may really like it.

3. Try To Add Some textures

You can add a blue jean jacket if you are going for a more casual look or maybe a knit kimono sweater. I decided to wear my cardigan with the feather trim. I wanted to keep the look classy so this cardigan was the perfect fit for me.

This outfit can be very versatile, you can add your favorite pair of red heels or any pair that adds a  “pop” of color. This simple change can go really well with an all-white ensemble.

My intentions for this outfit were to wear it to the Diner En Blanc event last year. When the day came for me to wear it, I  came down with the FLU! Talk about being ticked off! I was selected to go and cover the event three days before and my job was to share on social media and be the makeup artist for a few of the hosts. Talk about being BUMMED! So when the holidays rolled around I found the perfect opportunity to bring these pieces out of the hiding!
