Super Lustrous Matte Lipstick by Revlon

The Super Lustrous Matte Lipstick Collection from Revlon was gifted to me for review. All opinions are my own.

If you are looking for a long-lasting matte lipstick you want to continue reading. I am such a huge fan of matte lipsticks. Primarily because of how long the last and you rarely need to touch it throughout the day.

Super Lustrous Matte Lipstick

Would you believe me if I told you I sat down and actually swatched 12 MATTE lipsticks within an hour? Yep. I am still quite shocked myself. Let’s just say,  next time I will be spacing them out just a little bit. At least for the health and safety of my lips! lol!

Below is a snapshot of all of the different colors that were sent in the package. I loved the darker colors however it seemed to me that the formulation was a little bit different from the other colors that I swatched. So, instead of tossing them, I sent them to a loving home. A fellow blogger and friend reached out to me via Instagram and said that if there were any colors I didn’t like, she would gladly take them off my hands. I held her to that! lol! I drove out and met her at her job and handed them over for her to enjoy.

If y you want to know more about what I mean when I say the “formulation” was different with the darker shades check out my swatch video here.

I do love the range of shades that are available in this collection. Some are great to mix together for custom color if that’s your thing. The nude colors were really pretty on and are the colors that I always have on hand. Revlon also sent me some lipglosses and I will have a separate swatch and tutorial up for those soon.

Are you a fan of matte lipsticks?

Skeleton Makeup Tutorial

If you are thinking that you are out of luck this year for a Halloween makeup look, don’t you fret! Today I am sharing the last minute easy skeleton makeup look that you can create and rock for Halloween.

Easy Skeleton Makeup

Yeah, it doesn’t sound that easy and I know first hand because I was thinking the same thing. That was until I sat down in my studio chair, pulled out all of my makeup products and reached out to Google for some inspiration. Another great place to get some skeleton or skull makeup inspiration is Pinterest.

Before we get into the details, I want to share how incredibly nervous I was creating this look. I have never created a look like this and filmed it! During the process, I just knew that I was going to fail.

Self-Doubt

It will have you looking all kinds of crazy! When I completed the look I was speechless! I created a skeleton makeup look AND I filmed to share with you. I just knew that I was going to delete the video because of my skill level with makeup looks like this. I have only created these types of makeup looks on my makeup clients.

Never on myself

After creating this look and my Deer Makeup Look, I will definitely be planning makeup looks for next year. These are so much fun to create and it’s the one time that the makeup doesn’t have to be perfect. Speaking of perfect, this skeleton makeup look is not perfect! Despite that, I am pleased with the way that it turned out for my first attempt.

Quick Tip

You can not do the mouth with the black lines if that’s not your thing. I just wanted it to look a little different.

Deer Makeup Tutorial

I can’t believe it yall! Halloween is almost here! Normally I am not the one to really dress up for Halloween primarily because I’m lazy and I am never prepared.

Yeah, I know.

Every year I just go as the mom chauffeuring her kids from house to house. Today’s post is very special to me. The reason being is because I have never created any type of Halloween makeup looks on myself. I have had the pleasure of servicing clients and their Halloween makeup needs. I have always doubted abilities to create these looks on myself.

When I tell you I stepped outside of my comfort zone I really did. This year I created two Halloween Makeup Looks and today I will be sharing the first one. I love this one because being a mom of two, it’s super easy to do. The second look I created I will be sharing next Monday.

This deer makeup look is perfect for the busy mom who wants to participate in the Halloween festivities. To make things even better it won’t terrify the kiddos.

That’s a win-win in my book!

Seriously, when I showed my kids the two different Halloween looks they were terrified of the second one. So I was instructed by them to redo this deer makeup look for Halloween this year.

I wish you could have seen their faces! I couldn’t stop laughing.

As always I filmed a step-by-step tutorial on how you can create this look for yourself. Remember, you do not need to have all of the products that I used. Just go through your stash and use what you already have. I had to do this because didn’t have all of the products I needed.

To make this look stand out, I added the deer antlers to complete the overall deer makeup look. I purchased the antlers headband from Walmart but here is a similar one.

Super Easy Toddler Hairstyle For Busy Moms

It’s That Time Again!

As busy moms, we are always making sure our kids have everything they need for school and other extracurricular activities. From school supplies, clothing, haircuts, and the latest pair of shoes. But for the momma’s who have to tackle wash day prior to their little ones for the school week, can make things super stressful. The goal is to help give you some styling inspiration and cut some time out of your already busy schedule to do other things.

I know first hand how challenging t can be just to think of a hairstyle. I always go for the toddler hairstyle that is easy and manageable. I just don’t have the time most days to come up with super creative styles. However, please understand that everyone’s hair texture is different, so be sure to do the styles that are best for your child.

When I began filming this tutorial, I had no idea what I was going to do to M’s hair. I wanted something neat and out of her face. Most importantly, I wanted something that could be easily maintained for at least 2-3 days.

How long do you like for your toddler’s hairstyle to last?

Another great thing about creating a hairstyle that lasts for a couple of days is that is can be less damaging. This is also another reason why I love protective styling for M’s hair. I have also noticed how long her hair is getting. I honestly believe it is because I rarely let her hair down. That means I don’t have to brush her hair that often and it protects her hair from breakage.

This is the style I came up with: Finger Coiled Pony Tails  All products used for this style are linked at the end of this post.

Spice Up Your Fall Makeup Routine

My go-to makeup looks usually consist of a lot of neutral colors. Neutral tones are the colors that most people are comfortable with. This is especially true for most women who love to wear makeup. Don’t get me wrong, I love to play with bold colors too. It’s just something about a good wearable makeup look. Which had me thinking about a fall makeup routine that can spice things up!

As most of you know, I challenged myself this month to create more fall inspired makeup looks. More specifically makeup looks using a lot of neutral colors that compliment all the fall vibes. I really like the way that this eyeshadow tutorial turned out. It is a great look for anyone who may want to try it. Don’t’ forget if you do give it a shot and try this look, please be sure to use the hashtag #tnbmakeuplooks so that I can see your creations! You can also tag me on Instagram if that is easier for you!

A great thing about this look is that you don’t need a ton of different eyeshadows either!

Today’s makeup look is one that will help you to spice up your fall makeup routine. Sometimes we can fall in the rut of wearing the same colors over and over again. My favorite part of this look is the lipstick. It’s the perfect hue to put you in the fall mood.

I’m guilty as well!

I hope that this makeup tutorial gives you a little fall inspiration! That will have you inspired to create looks on your own that you love. I would really like to know from you what looks do you like the most?

Are you a fan of bold looks but aren’t very comfortable with wearing them? or do you prefer neutral colors 100%?

Create These Rainbow Eyebrows

If you know me, you know that I love filling in my eyebrows. The other day I mentioned on my IG Stories that my eyebrows are my number one travel necessity! Seriously, my makeup is not complete without my eyebrows. Since it is pride month, I had to film an easy tutorial on how to create rainbow eyebrows.

Today’s post is going to be fun and creative. This is my first time in a long time, that I have created a pride month makeup look. I also shared another makeup tutorial on another pride month makeup look you definitely need to check out.

Ok, let’s get into this look.

I recorded a step-by-step eyebrow tutorial to show you how you can also re-create these rainbow eyebrows. I love that these eyebrows really make a statement. Oh, and I love the ombre effect of the different colors blending together. I mean who wouldn’t look cool wearing this look to a pride month event?!

So I had to break out some of my colorful eyeshadow palettes to create this look. Don’t fret if you don’t have these EXACT palettes in your stash. As long as you have the basic colors, your look will turn our very similar to this one.

I have had some of the products to create this look for a while, so I linked most of them here. If you have any questions on other products that you could use, don’t hesitate to reach out and let me know. I always try my best to share the links to all of the products, if not similar ones.

What do you think of this look? Yay or Nay?

Pride Month Calls For Fun Colorful Makeup

Pride Month is HERE! I was excited to get in the studio to create some fun pride makeup looks. This look would be a great look to create if you are heading out to the local Pride parades and other fun events!

My goal is to do a least two more different pride makeup looks to give you a little inspiration. One thing is for sure it’s not good enough for Pride if it isn’t COLORFUL and FUN!

Now, to be totally transparent, I haven’t created a look like this in quite some time. Meaning, in many, many years! These types of makeup look used to be my favorite ones to create. I stopped because the way my eyelids are set up all looks just don’t look right on me. I have that little problem of having “hooded eyes”.

It can be extremely challenging when using bold colors to get it to blend perfectly. So this look wasn’t as bold as I wanted to be due to the excessing blending that had to happen.

I really hope you enjoy this look and you know I have your back right?

Of course, I do!

I recorded a step-by-step tutorial showing you how I achieved this look.  After I recorded this look I had to continue blending to get the look I was going for. I also did not have a “true red” eyeshadow, so I had to use what was in my stash.  Now, I want you to put your own twist on this look and get creative. Use what you have in your makeup stash and create something amazing! Whatever you do don’t get discouraged! Practice makes perfect and I know it will turn out beautifully!

Use the hashtag #tnbmakeuplooks so I can see what you created.

What other colorful makeup combinations would you like to see?

Classic Fall Makeup Look That Anyone Can Wear

With super busy schedules and a ton of things to get done, I still couldn’t wait to get busy creating some fall makeup looks. I tried last year and failed miserably at actually following through on what I said I was going to do. This year, I am dedicated to creating some simple fall makeup looks that anyone could wear.

one thing about the majority of my makeup looks, I try to keep them simple. One thing I hear the most about makeup looks is that for most women the looks aren’t realistic for busy working mom.

Good News!

I’m sharing 3 reasons why you should give this one a try

1.  Warm Tones– I used an eyeshadow palette that is perfect for any fall inspired looks that you could possibly think of. It is full of warm neutral tones that most people can wear.

2. Two or Three Eyeshadows- For this look, I only used about 2-3 different eyeshadows that compliment each other. If you want to take it up a notch you can use a shimmery eyeshadow on your brow bone. Not to mention, to change this into a night look you would just add the darker shade for a sultry look.

3. Everyday Wear– With this look, you can rock it every day without feeling like it is too much. The only tip, if you are not a fan of false lashes just use your favorite mascara.

Remember at the beginning of this post I mentioned how I tried to create some fall inspired look last year? Well,  here is one using the same palette. Hopefully, this will show you the versatility of this palette.

What do you think of this look?

Would the be a look that you would consider wearing more than once?

NORVINA

Anytime I purchase a new makeup palette I instantly start thinking of the makeup looks I want to create. It was no different with the Norvina Palette from Anastasia. Most of you may know here by ABH or Anastasia Beverly Hills. I will forever be a fan of her products because of out of all the palettes I own I have never really been disappointed.

Today I wanted to share this easy makeup look that I created using the palette. If you haven’t had a chance to check out my other post featuring this palette you can check it out here. So, a little story on why I wanted to create this makeup look. I really wanted to throw on a pair of lashes for a more dramatic look. After assessing my color options, this is the makeup look that I came up with.

What’s great about this look is that it can be as dramatic as you want it to be. For a day at the office, you can simply apply mascara. You can easily convert this look into a date night look or a look for a special event.

Just add those lashes girl!

Another great thing about this makeup look is that it is PERFECT for transitioning into Fall. I am currently in the process of thinking up some more Fall inspired makeup looks that will be coming to the blog over the next couple of weeks!

In the “before” picture I had already applied my face makeup ( i.e. foundation, eyebrows, blush, and highlighterIf you are on the hunt for a great functional eyeshadow palette I highly recommend this one.

Trust Me.

Do you have the Norvina palette? What are your thoughts? Yay? or Nay?

New Norvina Eyeshadow Palette

The latest eyeshadow palette from Anastasia Beverly Hills has been all the rage. I learned a couple of years ago that if you wanted one of her palettes you better order or purchase it in store as soon as it launches. Why? Because once it’s gone it’s gone and you will find yourself searching eBay to get your hands on it.

How do you know if this palette is worth investing your hard earned $42? Well, today I will be sharing my first impression and what you need to know about this palette before you hand over your hard earned coins.

What You Need To Know:
  1. Versatile  Eye Shadow Shades– the new Norvina Palette is the first eyeshadow palette from Anastasia Beverly Hills that has 7 Matte Shades and 7 Metallic Shades. What does that mean for you? For starters, you know that you are investing in a palette that will be functional and will also help you to create many different eye makeup looks.
  2. Soft to Sultry- most eyeshadow palettes try to include shades to where you can create multiple looks. However, I feel that this palette is perfect if you are looking to use ONE eyeshadow palette. This palette is perfect for creating a professional/natural eye look AND you can create a  look as glamorous or dramatic as you want. (Turn up)
  3. Quality– It can be tempting it can be to opt for the “cheaper” palette or the “dupe” palette. But let me tell you, this is one palette that you don’t want to NOT have in your bag. Is $42 a lot to pay for a palette? It depends on who you ask, but more importantly, it depends on what you’re expected to receive from your investment.
Here is a breakdown of the shades in the new Norvina Palette:
